You may have noticed a change to the name of our organization. During the recent MMF International Executive Council meeting at MIDEM, some members related problems with people confusing us with the International Monetary Fund. While this might seem unlikely, several members attended meetings with music managers and industry personnel in Southeast Asia and Brazil, where the organization’s initials elicited quizzical stares. In addition, some affiliates cannot locally register any name with “International” in the title. Therefore, each international affiliate will now be known as the Music Managers Forum-_______, affiliated with the International Music Managers Forum.
A new MMF chapter was recently established in the Washington DC area. We expect this branch to play an important role in helping to facilitate the MMF as the Artists’ and Managers’ representative in music industry matters.
The Australian MMF has reported a royalty situation which could be of particular interest to managers who have secured deals where their Artist’s royalties are calculated on the retail price per unit, less local taxes and packaging deductions.
Road Recovery's primary goal is to communicate to young people, concert goers, and local communities a strong message about the benefits of living life without the use of drugs.
Artist Management Roster:
Since forming, we have started a OneList discussion group, where all members receive all emails addressed to the Forum. The meetings started out formal, but the organization started to grow too big and getting speakers was too difficult given the return. So now we only occasionally have industry "big wigs", and then we don't advertise.
