Jamie Dominguez - National
Director, Industry Relations of The MLC
Jamie Dominguez is the National Director of Industry Relations at the Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC), where she creates and maintains relationships with industry organizations and their stakeholders such as songwriters, publishers, business managers and music industry attorneys. With 25 years of experience in the music industry, Jamie collaborates with creators across all genres and specializes in rights management, music publishing, artist development and education initiatives. In her role at The MLC, Jamie is responsible for amplifying the identity and mission of
The MLC by communicating critical messages. She actively participates in industry events and conferences strategically positioned to reach key audiences and effectively tell the story of The MLC. Additionally, Jamie follows current and emerging music trends to facilitate a steady influx of new songwriters and partners across all genres and platforms.
Beginning her career in Austin, Texas, Jamie earned a BA in Journalism, Mass Communication and Media Studies from the University of Texas. During college, she gained experience in radio and entertainment PR. After graduating, Jamie moved to New York City to join SESAC, where she spent 19 years growing within the company, identifying, curating and nurturing their extensive roster of songwriters. As Senior Director of Creative Services, she led the New York-based team in supporting and creating opportunities for SESAC-affiliated songwriters and publishers, while also forging alliances with other industry organizations and their stakeholders.
Jamie's dedication to building a healthy music industry ecosystem by encouraging fair business practices and empowering creators led her to join Sound Royalties in July 2020 as Regional Director of Business Development & Artist Relations, where she launched the company's New York presence. In this role, she provided music creators with financial insight and alternative funding strategies that allowed them to access capital without sacrificing ownership of their copyrights or independence.
A committed mentor and educator, Jamie joined the BerkleeNYC faculty in September 2021 to teach Business and Entrepreneurship in the Creative Space as part of their Master of Arts in Creative Media and Technology program at the Power Station in Manhattan.
Passionate about supporting creatives and building community, Jamie volunteers for various non-profit organizations. She is currently serving her third term as Governor of the Recording Academy's New York Chapter and sits on the Board of Directors for Mono Stereo Groove and Filipinos Advancing Creative Education (FACE). She has also previously served on the Library of Congress National Recording Preservation Board and the Education Special Projects Committee for the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Alex Heiche - CEO of SoundRoyalties
Upon recognizing the sizable need for funding options that cater to music professionals and allow creatives to retain their copyrights, Alex Heiche founded Sound Royalties in 2014 and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. His innate passion for music and strong roots in the music industry have greatly contributed to the firm’s success.
Alex is a strong and outspoken music advocate, supporting the growth of songwriters, producers and artists, as well as highlighting the importance of musicians being compensated for their work while retaining their music rights and royalties.
Alex possesses decades of experience in providing funds and finance-raising strategies to music creatives, large annuity recipients, and professional athletes. He has worked with leading music industry professionals, including GRAMMY-Award winners, platinum recording artists, and notable music industry executives in every genre, always with the utmost discretion and privacy.
A respected thought leader in the music business, Alex has shared his knowledge and insights at many industry events with organizations including the Recording Academy, SXSW, BESLA, the American Bar Association, the North American Law Summit, the Music Managers Forum, AIMP, Cutting Edge Law Conference, NYC3, Sync Summit, and others. As an advocate for the next generation of music industry leaders, Alex volunteers his time as a guest educator at schools like Vanderbilt University and Belmont University. Additionally, Alex’s expert opinions have been featured in top publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Music Business Worldwide, The Tennessean, Music Connection, Digital Music News, and more. He is also a contributor to the Rolling Stone Culture Council.
Prior to founding Sound Royalties, Alex held executive roles in specialty finance firms and high-tech software companies. Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Music Biz Association, sits on the Nashville Chapter Sounding Board of the non-profit Free Guitars4Kids, is a member of the Recording Academy, Songwriters of North America, the Gospel Music Association, the Country Music Association, the Americana Music Association, A2IM, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Association International, and is a lifetime member of BESLA and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Tony D. Alexander - President and
Managing Director of Adaptative Music
Tony D. Alexander is co-founder, President & Managing Director of Made in Memphis Entertainment LLC (MIME), a Black-owned full-service entertainment group comprising MIME Publishing, an independent music publishing company that handles the copyrights of some of the most sought-after young producers in hip-hop and R& B; Heavy Hitters Music, a film, TV, and ad sync company with an all-female creative team and Emmy-winning music catalog; Beatroot Music, a leading independent music distributor, as well as its subsidiary Beatroot Africa; and 4U Recording, a state-of-the-art recording studio brand with locations in Memphis and Atlanta. MIME is dedicated to developing and empowering diverse talent on both the creative and business sides of the industry.
Mr. Alexander is a proud member of the Leadership Music Class of 2023 and also serves on the Boards of the Music Business Association (Music Biz), the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), and is President of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) Atlanta Chapter. He has been featured in publications such as Billboard, Wired, Music Ally, Music Week, Pitchfork, and Memphis Business Journal. He has also been selected as a Billboard Indie Power Player (2021), Worth Magazine Worthy 100 (2022), and Memphis Magazine Power Player (2020-22) among other honors.
Mr. Alexander is a magna cum laude graduate of Morehouse College. He also holds both Master of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been married to his best friend, Dr. Gwendolyn Alexander for twenty-nine years, and they have three children, seventeen-year-old Natalie, fifteen-year-old Philip, and thirteen-year-old Memphis Paige, and reside in Memphis, TN.

She is President of Music Managers Forum – US (MMF-US), Co-Founder of NPREX (National Performing Rights Exchange), a Global Co-Chair for Women in Music and Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Task Force of the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Entertainment & Sports Industries. Neeta serves on the advisory
boards of IMMF (International Music Managers Forum), Gritty in Pink, and All About Music Conference (India). Neeta was Executive Director of Folk Alliance International, Senior Counsel, Legal & Business Affairs for Global Citizen, founding head of artist-label relations and legal counsel for SoundExchange, Vice President of Business Development & Legal Affairs for Tunesat, Assistant General Counsel for The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and National Symphony Orchestra Association, and a former board governor for 10+ years for The Recording Academy (New York and DC Chapters).
