Mark is an executive and entrepreneur who’s the founder of three companies in the music and tech spaces.  The First, Sync Summit, founded in 2013, is an educational company that through its events, educational courses, listening sessions, and thriving online community helps people create and license music for media to connect, create, collaborate, learn, and network with and from leading executives and thought leaders in television, advertising, brands, games, film and interactive media.  His second company, Disconic is a sync agency that represents music from major labels and individual artists from across the world, including over 50% of the Japanese market and significant clients in Korea, Latin America, Europe, and North America. His new company, Metavate.ai is developing a new solution to ensure better accuracy and updating of metadata across digital media.

Julie Hurwitz - Founder & CEO of Songbird Creative

Julie Hurwitz is a 20+ year music industry veteran working at the intersection of music, culture, and innovation. She is the Founder and CEO of Songbird Creative, a music strategy agency advising catalog owners, publishers, labels, and tech start-ups on strategy with a focus on synch and maximizing ROI.

Before launching Songbird Creative, Julie was President of Global Synch and Creative at Hipgnosis Song Management representing some of the world’s most beloved music including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and Shakira.

Prior to Hipgnosis, Julie spent more than a decade at Kobalt Music Group where she was Co-Head of Synch and Brand Partnerships managing the global synch team. As a licensing negotiation expert, she has closed $MM worth of artist and brand licenses including Childish Gambino/Google, Steve Winwood/Hershey’s, The Weeknd/Pepsi, Busta Rhymes/Mountain Dew as well as numerous Super Bowl commercials and Presidential campaigns. In tandem with Kobalt's People & Culture team, Julie led the company’s recruitment strategy, creating and implementing guidelines to ensure talent pools were composed of qualified and diverse candidates.

Before Kobalt, Julie was VP of Advertising Licensing at Nettwerk Music, Music Producer at Ogilvy Advertising, curating soundscapes for Fortune 100 clients, and the founding Executive Creative Director at renowned music production company, Q Department. She currently sits on the board of the Association of Music Producers.

Julie is an avid design aficionado and loves British crime dramas, tamales, dark comedies, and direct communication. She lives in Queens, NY with her husband, two teenagers, and their dog, Ziggy.
